Yes you can connect your Kindle to your computer using a USB cable.Since you don’t have wi-fi access, I’d go on Amazon with your computer, click on your account, log in, go to Manage my Content or Manage my Devices, I forget which. One of those will have a list of your purchases, and next to them a drop down menu telling it where to send it. Tell it to download to your computer. Then use your computer to drag and drop it into your Kindle, in the documents folder. You should be good to go.

How can you transfer a Kindle book from a PC to a Kindle.

I have several Kindle books on my PC , can I transfer them to my new Kindle without using Amazon Whispernet service?A copy and past stuff maybe? I am, new to that thx.

To connect Kindle to your computer:Plug the larger end of the USB cable into an available USB port or a powered USB hub connected to your computer.Connect the other end of the USB cable to the micro-USB port on the bottom of your Kindle. When connected to your PC, your Kindle will go into USB drive mode and its battery will be recharged by the computer. Your Whispernet service is temporarily shut off and you will not receive any of your subscriptions while in this mode. Also, your Kindle is not usable as a reading device while you are in USB drive mode, but will return right to where you were when you undock the device from your computer.

  1. You have to be a bit more specific. What type of files are they? Are they DRMed or no? I don’t know how the nook works, but the Kindle won’t read files with DRM or that require a password. It can natively read PDF and a few other formats, but not epub (Nook can do epub natively I believe). But for most file formats you can use calibre to change them to a file format the kindle can support, but again you’re back to if they have DRM they won’t be convertible

  2. Yes, you connect your Kindle to your PC with the USB cable that came with it. The Kindle should show up on your PC desktop. Then just copy paste your Kindle books from your PC into the books folder on the Kindle. Just like copying files onto a memory stick.
