how do you read textbooks on ipad.

I understand that many people use ipads to read books and such. I am thinking of buying one to read my textbooks on it but I don’t understand how to access them on there. Can someone explain this to me.

Download the ibooks app and search the ibook store for your eTextbook, or download the Kindle app and search Amazon Marketplace. When you buy/download a textbook, click on the ibook or kindle app and the book you downloaded should be on the “shelf” for you. You can also go to other sites to find ebooks and these can be open with your ibook app as well.To save money, I also use a site called to find the best price on ebooks. They are a textbook price comparison site and if you download their app for android or ipad/iphone you can use a feature to search for the best price on the ebook you are looking for. College students: Do you use a iPad, kindle or any type of electronics to read books on.

Do you find it more convenient ,

I studied computer programming, so my classes required me to have a laptop. I also have a Kindle Touch. I bought what books I could from Amazon in Kindle format and read them using Kindle for PC on my laptop or desktop at home (or on my Kindle). Pros of the digital format are searching and highlighting. Cons were that it was hard to tell how much left you have to read in a chapter or entire book, but the new Kindle software fixes this by estimating your reading speed and telling you how much longer you have to go. I definitely prefer the digital format, because I found most classes (lectures) didn’t really use the textbooks in class. It was easier carrying my laptop/kindle with me instead of laptop/heavy textbooks. I highly recommend using a digital reader for school. Which device you choose is up to you, as the non-Amazon devices (iPad, and Android devices) have the Kindle reading app. Also, the Kindle textbooks were usually cheaper than from my college bookstore.

How to check out library books free on my iPad. Kindle app.

I have an amazon account and my friend checks out library books with the kindle app I think, I really wanted to do this but I can’t figure out how?

Kindle app on the ipad only allows you to read the books.Acquiring them is an entirely different process. First of all you need an amazon account and a library card. From your library’s downloadable books site via any computer or your ipad, as long as you are connected TO A WIFI NETWORK (let’s use Overdrive, as they are the primary company for this), you can sign in with your library card and search for kindle books, probably in an advanced search.Once you have found a title, you can proceed to check out, where another window will open, where you have to sign into your amazon account. From there you have the option of something to the effect of “get library book”. Once you click on that, you can open up your kindle app on the ipad, and it may be in the archived items folder, and you should be good to go.For other types of downloadable books, you can use the overdrive media console app for ipad.Oh and you can return kindle books early too.
